                                                                                                           Videography

I have been interested in videography for a number of years. Still cameras and Camcorders have always fascinated me and in particular I enjoy the editing process. Taking the video footage, downloading it to the computer, putting it together, making the story, adding titles and special effects. I find all this challenging and rewarding.

The first movie camera I owned was one where the film strip had to be posted to Kodak for processing and when returned, it was viewed on an 8 mm projector. There was no editing etc. As equipment changed/improved with new technology, I purchased an 8 mm camcorder, then a super 8 camcorder where I was able to download video clips to a computer and edit them, that's when I became really hooked.

The first movie I ever edited on the computer was in 1997. It was also in that year that I purchased my first digital camcorder, a Sony DCR-VX1000E 3CCD Handy Cam (Pictured on top left corner of this page) which I still use. The software I had at the time was Adobe Premiere 4.0, then DPS Edit Bay 6 and With the advent of DVD burners etc I purchased Pinnacle 8, then 9 and 9 plus. A year ago I purchased Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and Adobe after effects 7. This year I upgraded to Adobe Premiere Pro 2. I also purchased a second Video Camcorder Sony DCR - HC 42 E Handy Cam primarily for its compact size which makes it easy to carry around.

I have made all types of DVD's, Birthdays, Wedding, Holidays, Special Events etc. To be honest, putting a DVD together is not hard if you have the software/hardware, a bit of imagination, computer savvy and plenty of time!! If you don't have the software, computer savvy or you haven't the time drop me a line and I will put your special events etc on DVD for you.

Photography

I have been interested in photography for as long as I can remember. I got my first camera from my aunt Daisy, mums sister, an old Box Brownie. At the time I didn't even know if it worked! I took it down to the photographic store, bought a roll of film, loaded the camera, went around clicking madly and when I eventually had the film processed, much to my surprise, they all came out ok.

Since then the cameras I have owned have been - Konica, Pentax, Minolta, Cannon. I currently own a Cannon EOS 10, Cannon Power Shot S50 and S70 (digital cameras). Over the years I have taken numerous photo's, not all good but a lot of them have come out pretty good. I enjoy editing/enhancing and adding special effects with the help of Adobe Photoshop. Below are some examples.
